Spiritual Companionship • Intuitive Guidance • Energy & Contemplative Practices
There are times in life when we need a little space to slow down, step outside the noise, and listen more deeply.
Anamchara Sessions offer that space.
These individualized sessions support you in navigating life experiences, changes, questions, and thresholds through the integration of spiritual practices, intuitive guidance, energy work, contemplative practices, and meaningful conversation.
There is no formula for a session.
Using knowledge, intuition, and nearly two decades of experience, I draw from a vast array of practices and traditions depending upon where you are, what interests you, and what might be supportive in the moment.
Sometimes we talk.
Sometimes we sit quietly.
Sometimes we work with energy.
Sometimes we walk.
Sometimes we journey.
Sometimes we explore something that feels mysterious, sacred, or a little otherworldly.
And sometimes what is most needed is simply the opportunity to slow your breath, quiet the whirl-pooling thoughts, and listen for your own answers.
I'd be honored to hold that space with you.

Anamchara is a Gaelic term traditionally associated with a spiritual advisor or spiritual companion. You may also encounter the familiar expression anam cara, commonly translated as "soul friend."
The idea of the anamchara resonates deeply with how I approach this work.
An anamchara does not tell you what to believe or claim to have all the answers.
An anamchara may:
My role is not to give you your answers.
It is to create a space where you can hear yourself more clearly, while sharing the knowledge, practices, intuition, and resources I have gathered along the way that might resonate and be helpful as you explore various spiritual paths and perspectives.

Or perhaps nothing is "wrong" at all.
You may simply desire deeper connection to yourself, to God or Spirit, to nature, to your own intuition, or to something more in life.
You don't have to know exactly what you need before you arrive.
These sessions can be the calm waters where you slow down, clear your mind, breathe, explore, and go within.
Anamchara Sessions are intentionally broad because human beings are complex. Your session might include:
A place to openly explore spiritual experiences, beliefs, questions, relationships, purpose, life transitions, grief, the sacred, or those things that don't always fit neatly into everyday conversation.
Reiki, Kahi Loa, and other gentle energetic practices may be incorporated to support relaxation, stillness, and a greater sense of connection with yourself.
Intuitive impressions, imagery, symbolism, or readings may arise as part of our work together. These are offered as possibilities for reflection rather than absolute answers about you or your future.
Our time may include meditation, visualization, breath, silence, sensory awareness, prayer, or other contemplative practices.
We often move through major thresholds without ever stopping to acknowledge what has changed. Together we may create a simple ritual to honor a beginning, ending, loss, transition, or something you are ready to recognize differently.
Sometimes what we need is a walk and someone to listen and just be there. A session may include a slow mindful walk, time outdoors, or a labyrinth walk.
Nature has always been an important part of my own spiritual understanding. We may explore your relationship with particular landscapes, plants, stones, elements, or places that hold meaning for you.
Like my ancestors, I believe in thin places, places where the distance between the ordinary and sacred seems somehow smaller. The veils are thinner. I believe God can easily be encountered in nature and that our relationships with place can support our healing, reflection, and growth.
There is room within these sessions for the practical and the mysterious.
For learning and intuition.
For talking and silence.
For movement and stillness.
For the sacred and the everyday.
For things we understand and things we may never completely understand.
My work has always existed somewhere between those worlds.
After nearly twenty years of energetic and spiritual practice, I've accumulated a large toolbox. But experience has also taught me that having more tools isn't necessarily what matters.
Knowing when and when not to use them does.
Each session begins with the person sitting in front of me rather than a predetermined technique.
You aren't booking "60 minutes of Reiki" or coming to receive the same spiritual formula given to everyone else.
You are booking time and space for you.
One of my favorite parts of these sessions is what often emerges afterward.
I frequently offer what I think of as seeds of information for you to explore on your own.
That might be:
I may intuitively receive a particular landscape or type of natural place for you to connect with as well.
You decide which seeds you want to plant and explore. Nothing is required or expected. Follow what sparks your curiosity, leave what doesn't, and see what takes root.
The goal is not to make you dependent upon sessions with me. It is to give you practices, perspectives, and resources that help you deepen your own relationship with yourself and the sacred and EMPOWER you.
My approach has developed through nearly two decades of practice, teaching, academic study, ministry, and lived experience.
Rather than following one spiritual system, I work from an interfaith perspective and draw respectfully from traditions and practices I have studied, practiced, and been given permission to share.
My academic and spiritual studies have allowed me to learn from teachers and knowledge holders from several cultural traditions, alongside years of studying the relationships among people, spirituality, and landscape as a geographer.
Animistic and nature-based perspectives may invite us to reconsider our relationship with place, plants, stones, animals, ancestors, elements, and the larger living world.
These perspectives are offered respectfully and within their appropriate context rather than presented as a single generalized "shamanic" practice.
My own explorations have included Eco-Spirituality, Creation Spirituality, contemplative Christianity, and the Celtic and Northumbrian streams of Christianity.
These perspectives may become part of our conversation when they align with your beliefs, curiosity, or desire to explore another way of understanding your experience.
You do not need to be Christian, nor follow any particular religion to participate in an Anamchara Session.
I have practiced and taught energy work for nearly two decades, including Reiki and Kahi Loa as a Master/Teacher of both since 2009.
These practices may be incorporated into a session when appropriate and when they align with your beliefs and comfort.
Rather than energy work being the entire session, it becomes one possible part of a much larger experience.
Human beings have long used ritual to mark important thresholds.
When relevant, we may create a simple personal ritual to acknowledge grief, change, transition, completion, beginning, remembrance, or another meaningful moment in your life.
Sometimes we need to get out of our heads and allow our bodies to participate in the conversation.
As a trained Veriditas Labyrinth Facilitator and longtime practitioner of sacred walking, I may incorporate or suggest labyrinth and walking practices.
The labyrinth in particular offers a rich language of paths, thresholds, centers, turning points, and return.
As an Ordained Interfaith Minister, I offer a space for spiritual exploration and interfaith spiritual education.
They can be particularly meaningful for people who do not have a regular church or spiritual community, those who identify as spiritual but not religious, those whose beliefs cross traditional boundaries, or those who simply want a safe place to ask big questions.
You don't have to believe what I believe.
In fact, part of the work is discovering more clearly what you believe.

Reiki and Energy Work for animals
I have first-hand experience in seeing the benefits working at an animal hospital using energy work on dogs, cats, and horses as well as on the veterinary care team members.
Sessions can be done virtually or in-person and are usually 30 or 60- minutes for companion animals. (I've also studied TTouch for Horses and I am Level 2 certified in Healing Touch for Animals. If you'd like to learn more, reach out.)
I also can help create ceremonies for End-of-Life for our beloved companion animals and their families.

Anamchara Sessions are offered for spiritual exploration, interfaith education, contemplative practice, personal reflection, relaxation, and spiritual support.
They are not psychotherapy, mental-health counseling, medical treatment, diagnosis, or a substitute for care from licensed medical or mental-health professionals.
Energy and contemplative practices such as Reiki and Kahi Loa may complement an individual's existing wellness practices but are not intended to diagnose or treat medical conditions.
If something arises that is outside the scope of my role, I will encourage you to seek the appropriate professional support.
Be Calm. Be Loved. Be Well.
There are many paths.
Sometimes we need someone to walk beside us for a little while. That's what these offerings are.
Come as you are. We'll begin there.
