For Loss
For the funeral, celebration of life, memorial, or graveside service, a combination of traditions from multiple religions may be woven into the ceremony, or a more secular approach may be taken. The ceremony is unique to the person, family/friends, and location.
My intention in any type of end of life service is to touch hearts by sharing memories that focus on the whole life of the person and spotlighting their interests and passions throughout life. Rituals can be incorporated into the ceremony or done before or after to help the deceased transition and mourners grieve.
Typically a celebrant will spend anywhere from 3-5 hours with family and/or friends listening to their stories with an open heart before the service. Writing the ceremony and organizing with others that may be speaking, can take up to an additional 10 hours. As a Funeral Celebrant I write and conduct personalized funeral, memorial, and graveside services.
Funeral Celebrant Services may:
- spotlight a person’s interests and passions in life through items present, words spoken, and readings.
- offer unique rituals for participation of those who wish to be involved.
- be religious or secular.
Options in the service may include scripture, poems, readings, and favorite music selections. The entire Funeral Celebrant Service is designed to honor a life. The service is created with the individual's life and essence in mind.

I also offer workshops on a variety of topics around death and dying. A passion of mine is helping others prepare and know themselves, and their own desires and wishes with their funerals, memorials, and celebrations of life and to articulate it to others.
