The Embracing Every Chapter Book Club will meet every other week to discuss a set number of chapters from a pre-selected book. Our books will explore the themes of mindfulness, conscious dying, near-death experiences, and understanding the mysteries of the afterlife from different religious and cultural perspectives.
This book club will be an enriching opportunity for both personal growth and professional development. Whether you're an emerging end-of-life practitioner or simply curious about these topics, you'll find a welcoming community eager to learn and share insights with. We will explore stories that inspire, challenge, and deepen our understanding of consciousness and the journey we all share. The intention of this book club is to cultivate a deeper appreciation for life and the lessons it teaches us about death as well as death itself.
While together, we will discuss what came up for us and questions we have. Suggestions for further study and reflections related to topics covered in the book will be provided.
This book club gathering is not intended for grief counseling or for grieving and healing from loss. The topics of grief and loss may arise due to the subject matter but this book club is not a grief circle. Our discussions will lean into general discussions around death and any fears of death. If you've recently experienced loss, I would suggest you wait to join us for these gatherings.
Each meeting will include:
Limited to 8 participants in person.
You may sign up for all books or with personal or professional life events, you may need to skip one book. To respect privacy, gatherings will not be recorded as personal discussions will be held in a respectful container and sacred.
Soft deadline: please try to register 14 days before the first in person meeting. This will help ensure that you have plenty of time to order the book and to read the initial chapters for the first discussion. If space is still available, the registration link will show below. Registration will close 3 days prior to the first session meeting.
Cost: $25 which includes the three gatherings over the six week period for the book selected. The cost for each series is kept low and only for covering the experiential activities, any handouts related to the book, and use of the space/platform for the three meetings.
You'll need to purchase each book on your own from your favorite retailor.
If you are interested in specific topics around death and dying please consider joining one of the Coffee, Tea, and Conversation talks fellow End Of life Doula, Holly Fisher Chalk with Let's Go In Wellness hosts in-person in Morehead City.
