In this small intimate spiritual book club, we will gather to read pre-selected books that either weave together science and spirituality or are focused on various religions, belief systems, and other metaphysical or esoteric topics. Throughout the year, it will be a diverse set of topics!
In the book club, our books will focus on a variety of topics centered around living our fullest lives, mindfulness, stories of the after life, near death experiences, as well as dying consciously. I encourage emerging end of life guides to consider joining this book club & discussion.
Gathering with open minds, curiosity, a healthy amount of skepticism, and our own beliefs, we will explore various spiritual, metaphysical, or esoteric topics together. The Spiritual Book Club will meet every other week to discuss a set number of chapters from a pre-selected book. While together, we will discuss what came up for us, and questions we have. Suggestions for further study and reflections related to topics covered in the book will be provided.
Each meeting will include:
Limited to 10 participants in person. You'll also have access to a private Facebook group to ask questions or share insights as you are reading between meetings.
You may sign up for all books or with personal or professional life events, you may need to skip one book. To respect privacy, gatherings will not be recorded as personal discussions will be held in a respectful container and sacred.
Please register at least 7 days before the first in person meeting so you have time to order the book and to read the initial chapters for the first discussion. Once registered, you'll receive notification of which chapters to read for each meeting.
Book suggestions/topics you wish to explore are welcomed by those regularly attending during the year.
Cost: $25 which includes the three gatherings over the six week period for the book selected. The cost for each series is kept low and only for covering the experiential activities and use of the space/platform for the three meetings.
You'll need to purchase each book on your own from your favorite retailor.
Payment may be made by Venmo or PayPal as well as cash for those attending in person.
Please note: the Jacksonville, NC venue for the in-person meetings is on the second floor of a building with no elevator.
Folding chairs are available for the in-person gatherings but if you'd be more comfortable sitting on the floor, you are encouraging to bring a yoga bolster or cushion.

We will resume January 2025.
The Embracing Every Chapter Book Club will meet every other week to discuss a set number of chapters from a pre-selected book. While together, we will discuss what came up for us and questions we have. Suggestions for further study and reflections related to topics covered in the book will be provided. These gatherings will be less structured and facilitated by the group as a whole. Each meeting will include more discussions on topics in general related to mindful living and death that came up while reading.
This book club gathering is not intended for grief counseling or for grieving and healing from loss. The topics of grief and loss may arise due to the subject matter but this book club is not a grief circle. Our discussions will lean into general discussions around death and any fears of death. If you've recently experienced loss, I would suggest you wait to join us for these gatherings.
Each meeting will include:
Limited to 10 participants in person. You'll also have access to a private Facebook group to ask questions or share insights as you are reading between meeting.
You may sign up for all books or with personal or professional life events, you may need to skip one book. To respect privacy, gatherings will not be recorded as personal discussions will be held in a respectful container and sacred.
Please register 14 days before the first in person meeting so you have plenty of time to order the book and to read the initial chapters for the first discussion.
You'll need to purchase each book on your own from your favorite retailor.
Since this book club will be more unstructured, donations are accepted but not expected. Suggested sliding scale of $10-25 for all three gatherings/one book. If you do donate, know that your donation goes towards the space/platform for the three meetings and helps to keep the cost down for other events. All donations support the continuation of free events such as this, the monthly sacred walks, and the mindful living and conscious dying roundtable monthly gathering. If you are interested in specific topics around death and dying please consider joining one of the monthly roundtables in-person.
Donations may be made by Venmo or PayPal as well as cash for those attending in person.
